16 Jan 2008Most of the time, we get our job done through keyboard shortcut keys. Perhaps the most notables are Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V. Who ever invent “copy and paste” was a genius(to me).
But do you know that our little mouse also has its “shortcut keys” as well? I am not talking about the 3rd mouse button or extra buttons that come with your Lamborghini(Logitech) mouse here.
Mouse Gestures! Yes, it is a way that combine your mouse movement with click to perform some common actions or functions on your program. Take a look on the video below and find out how a mouse gesture can do.
I started my very first experience with mouse gesture when I was using a web browser called Maxthon (formerly known as MyIE2) a couple years ago, years before Firefox was released, when IE still “ruled” the web. It built-in mouse gestures which it claimed that “you will feel uneasy without it when you addicted …” some sort of marketing gimmick words.
When Firefox roll out, I miss the mouse gesture feature very much since it does not have one. My younger brother even insist to stick with Maxthon because of mouse gestures although Maxthon is based on the same rendering engine as IE. But later, mouse gesture plugin for Firefox cames out and I got my old “love” back. Welcome back my “honey”! Muack!
But fear not my fellow IE friends! You can do the exact thing on IE too with this plugin.
You can even do mouse gestures on your desktop if you want using StrokeIt. Awesome isn”t it?

I remember using Opera with those mouse gestures before Firefox ruled web. Now I tend to go back to Opera once in a while, nostalgie
